As a Planner, you will be joining a small established team, working with various areas of the operation to help satisfy customer requirements through effective stock control and the creation and management of production schedules. You will achieve this by;

  • Being involved in, and when needed lead, daily Integrated Business Planning (IBP) meetings to assess production, supply and demand, issues, and solutions – actioning and implementing these where appropriate.
  • Working closely with the Customer Service department in communicating product availability dates and communicating any stock issues.
  • Ensuring that the buying of day to day raw materials and packaging is conducted within the contracts and terms that the Purchasing Department have agreed with the company’s suppliers and those purchases are made to maximise service and profit.
  • Supporting the development of SAP and ensuring that relevant procedures, processes and reports needed for day to day effectiveness are up to date and evaluated regularly.

What kind of person are we looking for? 

First and foremost, we always want to recruit talented people that align well with our values and way of working. In addition to the five Saint-Gobain attitudes we shared at the start, suitability for the role is always key – to perform well in this position, we also need someone who is;

  • Ideally from a Planning background with experience of MRP systems such as SAP, with strong Excel ability.
  • Effective when communicating to different teams, often who have conflicting needs.
  • Well organised, comfortable managing a range or data-sets and systems and using this information to make informed strategic decisions.
  • Proactive and able to quickly assess what is required, identify any shortfalls and either act, or escalate as needed.
  • As travel will be needed to other sites, we need someone with a full UK driving license.
