What impact will you have in this role?

This role is working with Weber where you will be responsible for testing, improving and managing new product development but with the ability to cost save and provide the best quality.

As a Development Chemist, you will be a valued member of the Research & Development team, supporting the production of quality products in a safe and efficient manner having technical expertise in multiple product areas, managing cross-functional projects to the stage gate process.

This will include;
• Being responsible for managing projects to develop new products and adjust products currently on the market 
• Maintaining up to date knowledge of current raw materials and ensures that products comply with current legislation
• Liaising with Operations to determine the most effective manufacturing process for products
• Being a technical consultant for raw materials and finished products for other departments, advising on technical issues and providing raw material & product awareness training for the staff when required.

In order to be successful in this role, you must;

• Is able to communicate technical information clearly at all levels of the business. Someone who is self-motivated, thinks analytically and can problem solve. We need someone who is creative can work as part of a team, is proactive and critical
• A Master of Science degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Physics
• Some understanding of Cement Chemistry would be advantageous but is not essential
• Industry experience preferred, especially in a formulating role but is not a must
