Who are we ?

Innovative? Customer Focused? Agile?  Open and Engaging? Entrepreneurial? – Our key attitudes and way we like to work at Saint-Gobain. If this sounds like you, please read on to find out more about the Toolmaker opportunity.

At Saint-Gobain we design small parts which make a material difference on people’s lives.  Our products are cleverly essential all over the world and our components play a crucial role in a range of demanding applications from slip clutch in electric car doors improving safety, to bearing mounts in motors improving efficiency and saving electricity. You probably use products featuring our components every day!

We are a global leader in the design and manufacture of innovative, high performance materials, with a global workforce of more than 195,000 employees representing over 64 countries.

How you will utilise your expertise?

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to use their tooling skills in a supportive, dynamic and forward-thinking environment. Working alongside a team of both experienced and developing Tool Makers, you will be supported to help you grow and develop new skills. The projects you work on will make a big difference for our Production Teams.

You will be responsible for manufacturing new production tooling and development tooling, refurbishing production tooling; modifying production tooling from new drawings revised by tool design. You will also maintain production tooling providing support to production when needed, and assist with design and manufacture of tooling for both new and existing production processes.

Essentially you will be a key part of a highly skilled and passionate team that loves the challenge of working on innovative projects with state of the art equipment and premium quality materials.

What kind of person are we looking for?

First and foremost, we always want to recruit talented people that align well with our values and way of working. In addition to the five Saint-Gobain attitudes we shared at the start, suitability for the role is always key.

You will be an experienced Tool Maker with a good grounding in the manufacture and development of tooling. You be well organised and manage your own workload, having an ability to prioritise and meet deadline. It is essential you are proficient with CNC machines, and if you had EDM experience, that would be highly desirable.

Because of the nature of the projects you will be working on, having a high level of attention to detail is necessary. You will also enjoy embracing the opportunities to innovate and find unique solutions to challenges you face.
