Production Operative - Robertsbridge, East Sussex

This is an exciting opportunity for an experience Forklift truck operator to join our passionate and knowledgeable Production Team as the Production Operative. This exciting role will see you working within a shift pattern to ensure that we fulfil our promise to provide the best product possible to our customers through safe and conscientious running of the line, utilising your previous experience where possible.

As a dedicated and enthusiastic member of the Production Team, you will be responsible for meeting the desired level of plant output to ensure that the product is delivered to the next process step in a condition that is ready for delivery to the customer. This will be achieved using the agreed safe operating standards and quality procedures, while adhering to and promoting both the Saint-Gobain attitudes and the British Gypsum principles of conduct.

What will you be doing in the role?

In the role as Production Operative, you will:

  • Maintain and promote safe working standards with an absolute commitment to your own and others’ safety.
  • Work to agreed standards and procedures relating to safe working, including PPE requirements.
  • Ensure all required data and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Have a good understanding of product quality, standards and customer requirements.
  • Be planned, organised and focused in order to meet production performance requirements.

For the production operative role specifically, it is important that you have:

  • A valid FLT licence with relevant experience.
  • Experience in delivering high levels of productivity, ideally within a production or warehouse environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Basic computer skills in MS Word / Excel
  • The potential and desire to advance towards a Section Leader role.
