British Gypsum is looking to appoint a Project Engineering Manager to be based at their East Leake site. This is a really exciting opportunity as you will be part of a brand new team that will deliver Operational Improvements in line with our journey from “Good to Great”.

What impact will I have in this role?

In support of “Expedition 2024 “and the overall Operational Excellence strategy, the Engineering Project Manager will support and manage the overall CapEx and project program for British Gypsum, looking at both short and longer term horizons.

As Project Engineering Manager you will be involved in a host of wide and varied projects to include Project types will include upgrades and refurbishments to gypsum plants, implementation of energy and environmental projects, obsolescence, new technologies, and infrastructure capital improvements.  Projects will vary from multiple contracts to oversight of turnkey installations.

The responsibilities of the Engineering Project Manager will include:

  • Support the development of a clear and agreed prioritised capex list over a 5-year horizon in conjunction with the business leads
  • Ensure project timeframes and budgets are achieved whilst delivering the set out ROI
  • Tracks & Manages overall capital budget for BG
  • Administers and is subject matter expert for capital submittal and approval
  • Supports and/or oversees key capital projects as determined by overall business resource and priorities
  • BG lead for the EEM Pillar
  • Supervisory responsibility for a team of 3 Engineers

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with a successful record of accomplishment safely leading the completion of several major industrial project installations throughout UK
  • Project Management training and certifications.
  • EEM Practitioner or WCM Instructor
