Who are we ?

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our passionate and knowledgeable Operations team as the Control & Instrumentation Engineer. This exciting role will see you assist in the day to day analysis & resolution of automation and related issues supporting the performance teams to minimize production impact.

As part of the Engineering team working closely with the Performance Teams, the job holder will be responsible for managing the reliability, maintenance, performance improvement and compliance of the automation infrastructure on site.

What will you be doing in the role?

  • Maintenance and development of the industrial IT Infrastructure
  • Maintenance and development of the SCADA, PLC control system and plant instrumentation systems
  • Provide technical guidance in the design and installation of instrumentation and control systems, process control, PLC’s and SCADA systems within Project teams.
  • Lead and initiate continuous improvement programmes and projects including the development and optimization of operation and maintenance procedures for instrumentation and automation / control systems.
  • Act as a coach/mentor to electrical craftsmen providing them with the necessary skills to fulfil their role.

For the Control & Instrumentation Engineer specifically it is important that you have:

  • Degree calibre or equivalent (i.e. HNC and relevant experience) in electronics, electrical or software discipline.
  • Proven capability of designing, specifying, managing and improving control and automation systems including – PLC and SCADA programs

It’d also be great if you have:

  • Experience in managing projects
  • Experience working with World Class Manufacturing Tools and Techniques
