This role is working with British Gypsum acting as a key member of the shift team ensuring the safe and efficient output of quality Gypsum Board products from the manufacturing plant.  

How you will utilise your expertise?

You will be a crucial member of the team responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by providing technical laboratory analysis to the Production Team, and ensuring that the product is within standards at all times.

  • You will champion a culture of safety
  • Carry out the daily testing of raw materials and finished product and reports      any exceptions to the shift manager and initiate the investigation when there is a deviation
  • Be aware of quality and compliance standards – and always uphold these
  • Work in a collaborative manner – effectively communicating and handing-over to the following shift.
  • Be comfortable working independently, often as the sole on shift Laboratory Technician.

What kind of person are we looking for?

  • Strong experience in a laboratory testing environment – ideally in the heavy industry/concrete sector
  • Comfortable using a range of instrumentation, with a willingness to be trained up on new equipment
  • Able to analysis and interpret testing result and record these as required
  • Comfortable working individually, while passing information on to the wider team in an accurate manner
  • It would be beneficial to have a strong awareness of the manufacturing environment
