Who are we ?

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our passionate and knowledgeable Warehouse team as a Warehouse Operative.

Working within a busy automated warehouse environment you will be responsible for loading palletised goods using counterbalance FLT. Ensuring deliveries to our customers are on time, in full and error free and is sustained at the highest level at all times. You will also be responsible for the offloading and safe storage of inbound material. Always working to improve the safety and efficiency of the operation you will also be expected to participate in improvement work to ensure we achieve and sustain World Class standards of safety, quality, housekeeping and service. There is also a requirement to engage in autonomous maintenance activity to ensure machinery and equipment performs at the highest level of reliability and efficiency.

Working hours are 40 hours a week operating a 2 crew shift pattern of mornings and afternoons. There may be some Bank Holiday work required.

What will you be doing in the role?

In the role as Warehouse Operative you will be;

  • Ensuring Safe Working Practices are followed at all times by self and colleagues through proactive safety engagement.
  • Ensuring the customers receive a Quality product every time.
  • Working as an integrated part of a shift and site operations team.
  • Loading HGVs for despatch to customer to ensure on time, in full, error free delivery.
  • Receiving, unloading and safely storing inbound goods.
  • Accurately and timely data recording to ensure stock accuracy is maintained.
  • Carrying out operation and basic maintenance of automated warehouse equipment and systems.
  • Maintaining housekeeping in the warehouse to the highest standards.
  • Assisting in identifying and delivering improvement projects to increase safety, efficiency and reliability of the warehouse operation.

For the Warehouse Operative specifically it is important that you have:

  • A valid FLT counterbalance license with relevant experience
  • Experience of delivering high levels of service in a fast-moving warehouse environment
  • High standards of safety and housekeeping
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Experience of Autonomous Maintenance would be desirable although full training will be given
  • Experience in continuous improvement would be advantageous.
  • Basic computer skills in word/excel.
