What impact will you have in this role?

 

This role is an exciting opportunity to join British Gypsum on a permanent basis in East Leake with the willingness to Travel within the UK. So who are we? Good question! British Gypsum are the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of sustainable, innovative, lightweight interior building systems. As a Process Engineer within the central Project Engineering Department you will have experience in solving problems, lateral thinking and possess a willingness to learn and adapt when liaising with different stakeholders.

 

As a Process Engineer you will be responsible for;

 

  • Problem solving skills: Root cause analysis, implementation of effective countermeasures knowledge capture and writing of training material.

  • Participation in New Product Development projects, requiring project planning and the writing and execution of trial documentation.

  • Thermal modelling of industrial plant as part of investigations into energy efficiency/performance/quality improvements.

  • Taking a supporting role in CAPEX projects from pre-engineering studies, HAZOP studies, supplier selection, overview of installation, functional descriptions and commissioning.

  • Advanced data analysis of plant, lab, QC and production data.

  • Writing and presenting of training materials to a wide audience

  • Ensuring everything we do is done safely and that every individual leaves work in the same condition in which they arrived

In order to be successful in this role, you must have;

 

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Powers of observation.

  • Logical thought processes.

  • Ability to communicate and work well with a wide circle within the Process community.

  • Project work.

  • Ability to capture data, distil information and disseminate knowledge at an appropriate level depending on audience.

  • Constantly cognisant of the safety implications of all aspects of the work.

  • Advanced Excel.

  • Driving Licence and willingness to travel within the UK.

Advantageous but not essential:

 

  • Experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment

  • Proven track record in process improvement/problem solving

  • Basic mechanical, electrical, controls & thermal process knowledge
