Senior QA Engineer – Weber – Saint Gobain

This role is working with Weber, part of the Saint-Gobain group and where we currently employ approximately 200 people across our three sites in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, Telford, Shropshire and Ballyclare, Northern Ireland. Our Weber brand manufactures a range of products across facades, tiling, flooring systems, technical mortars and more, supplied to the construction sector.

You will be the lead QA Engineer on site, managing the predominantly manufacturing quality in products and manufacturing processes.  You will work with the plant to ensure processes (including materials, products and measurement systems) are measured / monitored and evaluated for capability and effectiveness. Ensuring deviations are captured, recorded and managed appropriately. This role will see you Working with all departments using problem solving techniques to ensure effective elimination of issues and risks both internally and externally through the timely completion and close out or implementation of corrective and preventative actions.

As the site QA Engineer lead you will be collating data and presenting to site senior management teams while driving actions and communications through the production facility.  You will be a champion of continuous improvement, always seeking ways to improve product, material and manufacturing quality through the identification and application of lean practices.

Required Skills

  • Experience of QA audits.
  • Experience of problem solving using QA tools (8D, 5Y, statistical Analysis, Minitab)
  • Experience of fast paced quality driven product manufacturing preferred
  • Ideally Six Sigma Green Belt or above however other Lean or CI training considered
  • HND or Degree in Engineering or Science discipline
  • Excellent communicator at all levels
  • Competent in Microsoft applications.
