How you will utilise your expertise?

 

This role is working with BPB Ltd (Gyproc) Engineering (GMT) where you will be responsible for leading the electrical design and implementation of new electrical systems at gypsum manufacturing plants worldwide. You will work independently with little technical input from management to lead the electrical & automation scope of projects ranging in size from 100k€ to 5M€. This position also has project management and implementation duties, such as budgeting, scheduling, and field construction supervision.

Given the nature of project based work – there will be extensive international travel with this role.

 

In the role as a Senior Electrical Engineer you will;

  • Lead the development of processes for delivering best performance at the lowest cost possible giving due regard to safety, operability, maintainability and legal compliance.

  • Scope and develop initial designs and layouts for capital projects, and then expand them into detailed plans and drawings.

  • Provide feasibility studies, specifications and budget estimates for capital schemes.

  • Support Project Managers on major projects undertaken by GMT worldwide or existing operations to deliver installations on time and to budget.

  • Lead the implementation of approved capital projects.

  • Working comfortably to planning horizons of up to 3 years. Showing awareness and anticipation of impacts of current objectives upon wider business strategy and suggests ways to shape the strategy

 What kind of person are we looking for?

In order to be successful in this role, you must;

  • Have comprehensive CAD skills: Autocad

  • Have advanced working knowledge in:

    • Design of process electrical panels.

    • Design of LV distribution systems.

  • Have site experience (Operations and/or Multiple Project start-ups, sufficient to demonstrate expertise and leadership.)

  • Have a proven track record working in a highly automated, high speed (24/7) process or mechanical handling industry.

  • Understand cultural differences and able to adapt behaviour to influence, engage with and motivate cross cultural teams.

  • Have spent time in a plant engineering or maintenance role in a continuous process industry
