Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer – Saint Gobain Interior Solutions – Site Based - Runcorn

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
What skills and experience are we looking for?
First and foremost, attitude counts for a lot here at Saint-Gobain It is essential that the successful candidate is somebody with exposure to working in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment. We also feel a positive attitude and a commitment to your learning and development are also extremely important.
The primary purpose of this position is to take day to day responsibility for automation, control and electrical systems of the production plant at Runcorn
The preferred bias for the role is automation, although you will also be required to take ownership of the control systems (PLC and HMI), process instrumentation, the LV & HV distribution, as well as industrial and business networks.
The development and optimisation of these systems to improve process performance will be fundamental to the success of this role.
- Must possess a recognised electrical engineering qualification to HNC/HND Level although alternative routes such as a recognised apprenticeship plus relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment is essential.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Qualifications
- Experience of the Electricity at Work Act and the duties of a site Electrical Duty Holder
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, C&G 2391 & 2392 (Pts 1 & 2) or equivalent (C&G 2394 / 2395).
- IPAF License for Access Platform.
- Experience in utilizing Management of Change Procedures.
- Experience of World Class Manufacturing including RCA would be beneficial.
- Experience fault finding automated electro mechanical servo motion and robotics, and machinery such as conveyor systems, robotics, packaging, and labelling equipment in fast moving plants is essential.
- Programming, analysing, fault finding, and modifying Siemens PLC programs - preferably in a process and machinery background.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of LV and HV electrical systems is required. Training in HV systems will be provided to the right candidate.
- A working knowledge of HMI software and SCADA systems.
- Conscientious, motivated individual with an enquiring mind, who is able to contribute to the continuous improvement of the engineering function.
