Glassolutions are part of the Saint-Gobain group and the largest processor and distributor of glass in the UK. We offer a breadth of services unrivalled across the glass industry, supplying and processing glass for a broad range of applications.

What impact will I have in this role?

As a Transport Planner with Glass Solutions, you will plan and organise the delivery of glass from our Elland site in a timely and cost effective manner in order to meet the needs and requirements of our customers.

Your key day-to-day duties will include:

  • Maximising utilisation of company vehicles through delivery schedules, taking into account vehicle and driver availability, payloads and customer requirements.
  • Producing factory loading schedules to enable following day’s production to be loaded as required.
  • Organising additional vehicle and driver cover in the most cost effect manner to manage shortages as necessary.
  • Promoting a culture of excellent customer service by regularly communicating with and updating customer service colleagues and customers on delivery times.

  • Previous experience within transport/manufacturing planning function.
  • Demonstrable customer focus and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, backed up by an organised and methodical approach.
  • IT literate and competent in use of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word)
