Graduate Warehouse Manager – Saint-Gobain Glass UK – Eggborough

Saint-Gobain Glass UK are looking to appoint a Graduate who is keen to pursue a career in logistics to oversee the day to day running of their warehouse based at the manufacturing facility in Eggborough. This is a developmental role where you will be joining the logistics team, which is one of 4 key operational areas at the site. 

The role will be working days (Monday to Friday), and you will be overseeing the workload of operators and team leaders who work 3 different shift patterns to enable a 24-hour operation. 

The role will be working for Saint-Gobain Glass UK which is one of more than 30 exciting Saint-Gobain brands in the UK. Saint-Gobain Glass UK is Europe's leading manufacture of flat glass for the construction industry, including float, coated and laminated glass products.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

You will be responsible for managing the wider warehouse team which consists of 3 shifts of operators and team leaders who are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of all of our glass.  You will also be working with our planners who are responsible for planning the quantities of our different products needed, depending on the customer demand. This demand feeds to our manufacturing areas in order for them to plan their workload so good teamwork and communication is essential!

You will ensure that all customer requirements are met and that all additional Warehouse duties are carried out efficiently, whilst maintaining the world class Health and Safety standards which have been well established within Saint-Gobain.  You will have overall responsibility for the Warehouse team, providing a personable approach whilst maintaining the outstanding level of customer service that our customers have come to expect from us.

  • Manage and support a dedicated team of Warehouse staff, including all people management aspects such as appraisals, absence and performance management
  • Be responsible for the day to day operation and management of the Warehouse, taking ownership of any problems that arise and seeking to find a suitable resolution
  • Implement effective working practices to increase productivity
  • Ensure full compliance with all legislative standards
  • Attending management meetings and producing management reports
  • As this is a developmental role you will be expected to embrace all learning opportunities that the role will present
