How will you support us?

 

As a Logistics Manager you will be managing material forecasts, shipment, logs, storage and stock levels. Identify, maintain and upgrade shipping contract type to obtain best service level and cost. Assessment and monitoring of port storage location and geographic to optimize cost and service levels.

 

You will manage external UK haulage, regularly reviewing and maintaining best solutions for varied supply to ongoing customers. You will check and ensure material conformity of incoming goods, provide good customer and service provider relations and keep minimal costs at all times.

 

In the role as a Logistic Manager you will;

 

  • Manage stock locations, set port procedures and regularly meet with port management to review port performance.

  • Check stock and maintain adequate stock levels at all times with accurate stock records.

  • Investigate alternative ports for both temporary and permanent.

  • Collate and analyse forecast of material requirement based on sales forecast and issue import forecast requirement to the LECA International Operations Director for production levels.

  • Manage and maintain shipping contract with Agents to ensure cost efficient.

  • Arrange shipment for the UK as and when necessary from the supplying kilns i.e. Denmark, Portugal, and Norway.

In order to be successful in this role as a Logistics Manager, you must have;

 

  • Logistics experience with ideally a recognised qualification in Logistics.

  • In depth knowledge and experience of the sea freight market to include shipping and haulage.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems, ideally NAVISION ERP systems and improvement experience.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel.

  • Proven negotiation skills to make commercially viable decisions in freight proposals.

  • Developed communication skills to enable concise logistical advice and instruction to both the business colleagues and receiving customers.
