This role is working with Artex, a leading distributor of some of the UK's must-have construction brands. For over 80 years Artex has been supplying merchants, decorator centres and DIY stores of all shapes and sizes from single parcels with an express service, up to pallet loads, and beyond.

What part will you play in this?

We currently have an experienced and passionate Supply Chain team in place who play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation to deliver expert service and high levels of customer care. We are looking to the future in this team, and want to bring in someone driven who is interested in building a career in the Supply Chain sector with a thriving and supportive organisation.

As part of this Level 3 Supply Chain Apprenticeship with Artex, you will;

  • Be involved with duties in a range of Supply Chain teams at Artex, including; placing purchase orders, checking and managing stock levels, demand and production planning, working with the customer service, warehouse, transport, and sales team, and much more.
  • Understand our key customer requirements and see first-hand the impact of new technology implementation on a supply chain to support those requirements
  • Lead improvement projects to help us operate more efficiently, removing waste and reducing cost, and understanding how this project affects the wider business.
  • Complete a mix or course work and assessments, be active in your 1 to 1 personal development, and project based activities.
  • Work in a full time capacity with the team, holding usual business hours of Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. Flexibility will be given around time off for required course leave and annual leave as required.

What kind of person are we looking for? 

First and foremost, we always want to recruit talented people that align well with our values and way of working. As this is a recognised apprenticeship, in addition to the five Saint-Gobain attitudes we shared at the start, there are other key criteria you will need to meet;

  • A British citizen currently residing in England.
  • Not currently working in a Supply Chain role – however, if you come from another relevant business area, are a recent graduate, or even doing a level 2 apprenticeship and looking to progress in this field, then we would love to hear from you.
  • A-level equivalent to English and Maths at grade A-C
  • Committed to at least 30 months as you work to attain this apprenticeship, and after that we’d very much like you to continue with us.
