Area Sales Manager - Elland (Halifax)

Glassolutions are looking for their next top performing Area Sales Manager to drive sales for specified products within a given territory, enriching mix and share of desired wallet from existing accounts.  You will prospect and secure new accounts whilst building and sharing knowledge of accessible market.

What you’ll be doing as an Area Sales Manager:

  • Intimately understand and respond to the evolving make-up of the personal sales portfolio (lapsed customers, current customers / share of wallet, new business) in order to meet sales targets.
  • Through active listening and observation, understand and react to each customer’s buying process, from initiation of need to product delivery and each step in between, including how the purchaser reviews the alternatives.
  • Understand the needs of a customer’s supply chain and provide tools to help the customer influence it (especially in order to facilitate high value-added glass sales).
  • From an understanding of the sector’s derived value propositions (based on company, branch or product characteristics), be able to create and present a bespoke value proposition for a specific customer based on their expressed and perceived needs.
  • Make contact with, nurture and close new sales opportunities in line with a branch’s sales plan and chosen target customer groups.
  • Continually evolve and record in CRM our customer insight in order to better understand customer characteristics, buying centre, customer needs, buying process, influencers of all kinds and competitor activities - and develop and present matching propositions accordingly. Use this understanding to help evolve general sector propositions.
  • Communicate and work with wider team branch teams in order to deliver customer satisfaction, especially in the areas valued the most.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in a Sales Manager role or similar
  • Proven sales record
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of excel and other Microsoft products
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A full, clean driving license as some travel will be involved
  • Organised and enthusiastic with the ability to motivate, monitor and drive a sales team to achieve results.
  • Knowledge of the industry and our products would be an advantage
