Who are we ?

We have an excellent opportunity for a highly customer focused Sales & Customer Service Assistant to join our small but dynamic team at our IDS Makeover Centre in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. You’ll be responsible for servicing local tradespeople, developing sales and maximizing branch profitability through link selling, both in the showroom and over the phone, all whilst providing exceptional customer service.

International Decorative Surfaces, part of the Saint-Gobain group, are the UK's largest distributor of surfacing materials, specialising in flooring, worktops, laminates, panel products and solid surfacing.

What impact will I have in this role?

As a Sales & Customer Service Assistant with IDS, you will:

  • Achieve Sales targets set by the business and Branch Manager.
  • Continuously improve customer service to include customer after sales care.
  • Complete training activity for core skills, own role and multi-skilling.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and team-working in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the overall business.

  • Excellent customer service skills and capability to build strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Strong telephone experience backed up by excellent communication skills.
  • A commercial mind-set with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A great attitude, with a positive work ethic and dedication to working as part of an effective team.
  • Product knowledge relevant to the industry sector, although full training will be given.
