Position description

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, innovative and commercially astute Sales Manager to join our business. As a Sales Manager working for Jewson, you will be responsible for the management of sales function within the 8 Jewson branches in the area and a team of 5 external sales personnel.

You will join a passionate, long serving and knowledgeable team who enjoy the challenge of being the leading building merchant in the area, working in a vibrant, fast paced environment where you can demonstrate your flair for people management, people development, Sales Management and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels. The Sales Manager will aim to motivate and drive the team to maximise sales growth, achieve sales and margin targets, customer base growth and customer spend targets through your innovative and commercial savvy approach.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Some key duties you’ll undertake as Sales Manager include:


  • Support in the transformation of Jewson and the Business Unit
    • Develop, lead, coach and support the sales team in delivering a differentiated customer value proposition
    • Develop strong relationships with all key customers, working closely with colleagues to ensure customer relationships are managed at all levels across the business unit
    • Lead, coach and support the sales team to deliver a larger share of the customer’s wallet
    • Challenge performance and take necessary actions or provide coaching where needed
    • Implement the national sales plan across the business unit with support from the Business Unit Director
    • Develop a rolling 12 month local sales plan with the branches in the business unit to enable growth in our target market 

Although someone with solid exposure to working in a similar Sales Management role within a manufacturing / distribution environment would have an advantage, we are open to reviewing applications from Sales Management professionals across different sectors as we feel a positive attitude and a commitment to your learning and development are most important. If you haven’t worked in this industry, that’s okay, we will support your learning to help you develop with us.
