Technical Sales Manager (Field-Based) – Build Aviator - Covering London & South East England

Build Aviator is a service provided by Saint-Gobain - Winners of ‘TOP EMPLOYER UK AND GLOBAL' (2016-2019)

Build Aviator is an extremely innovative and rapidly growing service which aims to take the stress out of our clients’ building projects. From design and planning, through to procurement and completion, we provide expertise and services to help make the build process smoother.

In this exciting role, you’ll develop customer engagement with Build Aviator’s Technical Services, leading to sales of Build Aviator services and increased sales of Saint-Gobain’s building materials. Our Sales Managers work with field and branch based Sales teams to develop their capability to promote and sell Build Aviator Services.

Please note, as this role is covering London and the South East, a full and valid UK Driving License is an essential requirement.

As a Technical Sales Manager with Build Aviator, you will:

  • Develop a pipeline of target customer opportunities by working with marketing, field & branch based sales teams and new customers.
  • Engage with customers to profile the opportunity, promote and then sell Build Aviator Technical Services.
  • Use the 1BD product portfolio match customer requirements and technical services to ensure the customer has a clear 1BD product solution for every stage of the building project.
  • Collaborate with branch and project based sales teams to ensure there is a seamless transition from ordering and pricing of technical services, to ordering and scheduling of materials.
  • Build strong relationships with 3rd party service providers.
  • Work to continuously improve technical knowledge in relation to changing market, regulations, new solutions, new products and new suppliers.
  • Deliver training/coaching of colleagues in Branch & Field Based sales teams to ensure they are capable of promoting and selling Build Aviator services.
  • Produce regular reports on activity and results as agreed with line manager.

What do we look for in a Technical Sales Manager?

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • A proven track record in a field based sales or business development role.
  • Strong communication, negotiating and presentation skills.
  • Experience of relationship management sales process (as opposed to transactional selling).
  • The ability to sell the ‘value proposition’ and commercial acumen.
  • A willingness to learn and apply new ways of working and technical concepts.
  • A full UK Driving License (travel is essential for this position).
  • Ideally, an understanding of the build process and product knowledge within the building industry (Desirable).
