New Business Executive (Field-Based) – Jewson Builders’ Merchants

We’re looking for an ambitious New Business Executive to manage the acquisition and development of new accounts across a regional cluster of branches within a multi-million-pound Business Unit. You’ll also ensure that any lapsed or dormant accounts are reinvigorated to drive sales opportunities for your Business Unit.

A typical Jewson Business Unit has around 80–120 colleagues, including sales and operational teams, supporting circa 2000 live customer accounts from multiple branch locations. To provide the very best service to both our customers and branches, you’ll therefore need a full and valid UK driving license due to the regular travel requirements.

As a New Business Executive with Jewson, you will:

  • Identify potential customers to sell our services to and forge new relationships.
  • Support the on-boarding of new accounts, simplifying the customer experience to ensure repeat business and an established portfolio.
  • Target dormant and lapsed accounts for reactivation, ensuring we adapt to our customers’ needs and valued feedback.
  • Work alongside branch teams and functions within your Business unit to set new trade terms and ensure all opportunities are leveraged.

To be successful in the New Business Executive role, you will have:

  • Demonstrable experience within customer facing roles and effective utilisation of digital tools/systems.
  • The ability to develop and execute effective sales plans and campaigns – territory planning would be highly desirable.
  • Excellent persuasive and negotiation skills, backed up by a track record of sourcing and developing new business opportunities.
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy and problem solving capabilities.
  • A full and valid UK driving licence - essential, as the role requires regular travel within the Business Unit.
