Customer Development Manager – Jewson Builders’ Merchants - Canterbury, Kent

We’re looking for an experienced Customer Development Manager to manage the on-boarding and development of new and key accounts across a regional cluster of branches within a multi-million-pound Business Unit. A typical Jewson Business Unit has around 80–120 colleagues, including sales and operational teams, supporting circa 2000 live customer accounts from multiple branch locations.

As a Customer Development Manager with Jewson, you will:

  • On-board all new accounts within the Business Unit, ensuring they receive excellent customer care and continue to choose Jewson.
  • Manage and convert the Business Unit sales pipeline with a keen focus on our Build Aviator estimating service.
  • Develop and maintain key customer relationships, proactively contacting customers and working with our internal & external sales functions.
  • Provide detailed customer insights to the Sales Manager to identify new opportunities for development.

To be successful in the Customer Development Manager role, you will have:

  • Demonstrable experience within customer facing roles, with a track record of effective account management.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to develop and execute effective sales plans and campaigns.
  • Experience of effective utilisation of digital & telephony sales tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with branch teams to ensure customer relationships are managed across the business unit.
  • Excellent persuasive and negotiation skills, with a structured and organised approach to your work.
  • Knowledge of building materials and pricing methods – highly desirable.
