British Gypsum is the UK’s leading manufacturer of interior lining systems.    With over 100 years’ experience in plaster, plasterboard and ceiling solutions, we already have a multitude of high-performance products and systems.  

In addition to our manufacturing expertise we provide training courses for installers and stockists of British Gypsum products and systems through a national network of Technical Academies.  Our courses cover specialism’s including; Wall Lining and Ceiling Systems, Plastering and Jointing.  Courses can range from 1 to 3 days and equip attendees to develop practical skills. 

How you will utilise your experience?
As Technical Support Representative you will be based at our Erith Training Academy in Kent.  You will utilise your plastering skills to develop and train others.   You will deliver a range of courses to professional from the construction trade and trainees enabling their knowledge of British Gypsum Products. 

The role is varied and your day to day duties will include; 

• Setting out and delivering training courses at the Erith Training Academy and customers sites in the South East

• Organise/coordinate and exhibit at specialist Road Shows and Trade days.

• Working alongside sales teams to demonstrate new products to customers

• Monitoring and reporting on Trainees development and progress, to ensure successful completion of courses.

• Look to improve training courses by keeping up to date with industry standards

What kind of person are we looking for? 

First and foremost, we always want to recruit talented people that align well with our values and way of working. In addition to the five Saint-Gobain attitudes we shared at the start, suitability for the role is always key; does the following criteria sound like you? 

• An experienced Plasterer with minimum of NVQ level 2

• Expert knowledge in some or all of these arears; dry lining, partitions, ceilings, dot/dab techniques and metal walls.

• Previous experience of training/mentoring would be a distinct advantage

• The ability to travel across the South East to customer’s sites and trade shows etc.  – a full driving license is required as a vehicle will be provided.

• Excellent communications skills

• An approachable and assured personality
