This role is an exciting opportunity to join British Gypsum as a Demand Planner on a permanent basis in East Leake, Leicestershire. So who are we? Good question! British Gypsum are the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of sustainable, innovative, lightweight interior building systems.

What does this role involve?

As a Demand Planner you are famous for being the integration point into the sales and commercial organisation. This position leads the dialogue each month for their respective customers and products with key counterparts in the Sales and Marketing teams. Helps to facilitates the demand feeder and assumptions consolidation meeting so as to enable the refinement and agreement of the demand forecast assumptions encouraging discussion on performance, assumptions & potential impact of promotional activities.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience for a Demand Planner:

  • Assess, interpret, and analyse market data to support and develop a thorough, accurate, and supportable demand forecast for use in production requirements and financial planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting process and methodology. Continually seek, report, evaluate, and make recommendations to improve forecasting, planning and budgeting processes.
  • Collates the information required to facilitate the demand review process and demand related activities of the S&OP process.
  • Provide analysis across Sales, Marketing, Demand Team and Supply Chain to enable the production of forecast reports recommending improvements to forecast with supporting evidence to assist with decision-making.
  • Work closely with Category Managers and act as a key support to ensure Product Life Cycle and Product Status is maintained for all SKU’s in SAP.
  • Supports the Demand Manager with the facilitation of Demand Step meetings such as the ACM (and substituting in the DR) and obtaining/collating demand forecast assumptions, encouraging discussion and challenging performance, assumptions & potential impact of Sales & Marketing activities.
