We’re looking for a detail orientated Estimator to join our Scotframe team in Swindon. You’ll be providing accurate detailed quotations for the supply of timber frame kits and associated joinery materials in line with client’s drawings & specifications.

What you’ll be doing as an Estimator:

  • Produce competitive quotations at given margins to sustain & grow the business
  • Work efficiently and accurately
  • Manage pipeline and approach to each project in agreement with the sales team to ensure that opportunities are prioritized, workload is managed and response timescales are achieved
  • Liaise with technical and production departments to ensure projects progress through the system from order to delivery
  • Attend pre and post contract meetings as required
  • Attend self-build and trade shows to represent the company
  • Provide cover for customer sales enquiries when sales team are not available
  • Maintain weekly record of workload and achievements

What we’re looking for:


  • HND building qualification or equivalent or equivalent trade background
  • Experience of a fast moving estimating department and the understanding of the principles of timber frame construction and building industry requirements
  • Ability to identify and implement performance goals, priorities, recommend measures
  • Strong communication skills at al l levels, both written and verbal
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate initiative to spot and highlight areas/matters of concern to Line Manager
  • IT literate in systems relevant to role i.e. Microsoft Excel & Word or estimating take off software
  • Good business and commercial awareness – preferably gained from similar industry
  • Able to translate technical language into simple terms
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills


  • Experience of CAD based drawing packages
  • Knowledge of current Building Regulations
  • Knowledge of thermal design requirements
  • Good problem solving abilities
  • Ability to influence and lead change within the team
