You’ll be working for British Gypsum in East Leake. British Gypsum is one of more than 30 exciting Saint-Gobain brands in the UK and has over 100 years' experience in plaster, plasterboard and ceiling solutions, they create innovative products which deliver meaningful customer benefits.

For this role in particular we are looking for someone with the following skill set;

  • Degree in an engineering or scientific related subject (mechanical, structural, civil, building or physics, material science would be advantageous)
  • Lab based experience, with an analytical approach and high attention to detail
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards EHS in all activities
  • Experience working with internal and/or external stakeholders, and supporting a wider team through projects
  • Experience interpreting complex and scientific data into information to enable the project team to make best for business/customer decisions

What will I be doing in the role?

With a bias towards system testing of finished products, our Scientists play a key part in our success. This position is a mix of lab and office based work. In this role you will;

  • Work closely with the Building Test Centre to organise large-scale systems tests (plan, organise materials and witness fire, acoustics and structural tests) and communicate the outcomes to the relevant parties
  • Complete assembly instructions and drawings
  • Manage relationships internally with commercial teams and external relationships with the customer
  • Promote our EHS obligations, identify improvement opportunities and complete safety plan requirements
