How will you be a part of our development?

This role is working with Celotex, part of the Saint-Gobain Group, is the UK brand leader in PIR thermal insulation solutions for building and construction. Celotex strives, through innovation, to continually improve product performance and remain at the forefront of industry progress.

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will head up our Development Team based across the PIR Competency Centre in Hadleigh. You will drive a high performance and safety culture within the team where everyone takes a pride in their work, is accountable and delivers to our expectations and standards.  You will enable this by supporting and developing each team member to reach their potential.

You will personally lead and direct multi-functional teams to deliver development projects and process trials.  Locally, this will involve working closely with colleagues from Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain and Sales to support product development, launch and post launch phases.  You will also have access to and be able to develop your network with other Saint-Gobain research and development teams based in France and further afield.

Key to this role will be ensuring that robust NPD and project management processes and systems are in place and complied with.  It will also be important to monitor technical advances in raw materials and work with the Procurement teams to ensure that the best technical and raw materials are used.

What kind of person are we looking for?

  • A degree in materials science, polymer science, chemistry or other relevant technical degree is essential for this role.
  • Experience of being a manager isn’t essential we still want to hear from you if you have managed projects before. 
  • Familiar with product testing and the interpretation of EU standards and regulation.
  • Experience in R&D and continuous improvement.
  • Track record of leading and managing multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder research and/or technical projects successfully.
  • Ability to develop effective networks and relationships within the organization.
