This is an exciting opportunity to join our passionate and knowledgeable purchasing team in East Leake.  If successful, you will be supporting the assessment of supplier performance and the management of non-conformance.  You will ensure that the products and services provided meet the needs of our customers’ and that they are aligned with the Saint-Gobain Supplies Charter.  It is in the DNA of Saint Gobain to ensure that we fully listen and understand the requirements of our customers, ensuring that their needs are always met on time and in full, be they trade professionals or private individuals.   • A root cause analysis toolset
  • Experience of preparing for and conducting supplier visits and audits.
  • Be an analytical thinker and problem solver
  • Ability to develop new and existing suppliers
  • A value creation mind-set and positive ‘Can Do’ attitude.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity both organizational and supply chain related.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Be comfortable when working in diverse environments
  • Excellent knowledge of both English and data capture with the ability to create various documents and reports.
  • Flexibility in working hours; willing to accept/attend meetings outside of normal working hours and to accommodate travel (sometimes overseas)
  • Ability to be diplomatic and to communicate well at all levels.
  • Must hold a full clean driving licence.

     

As a Saint Gobain Supplier Development Engineer:

  • Being mindful of own areas of development and takes time to tune into supplier working environments. Takes account of this individual and supplier understanding when deciding how to undertake the audit.
  • Have freedom to refine an audit based on health and safety risks and express to the business concerns outside of the report boundaries, for example behaviours and obstructions
  • Support in the creation and implementation of improvement programmes with our suppliers so as to ensure compliance and performance improvement. Assist with supplier assessments and write concise reports, which include development recommendations, for Local business, Managing Directors, senior leaders and the Regional Managing Director in Construction Products, ensuring that the suppliers contribute to the provision of an outstanding customer experience.
