A truly exciting time to join us here at Saint-Gobain as we prepare to embark on our new Digital Transformation project. Saint-Gobain is a global leader in the construction industry with a presence in over 67 countries. As a Digital Data Architect you will be responsible for the design, strategy, documentation and communication of data across the Digital estate, including all consumer-facing (B2B, B2C & B2B2C) Digital assets, including websites, eCommerce, mobile apps, IoT & specialist applications to support new revenue generation through diversification

The successful candidate will support the delivery of new Digital concepts for products and services that meet SGBD’s strategic goals in order to deliver a world class customer experience and a digitally engaged workforce, working with both your own team and partners.

So if you…

  • Prior experience of working as a data architect or analyst through the development lifecycle is essential
  • Understanding of how to investigate, document and clearly articulate data structures, flows and ownership in a complex organisation
  • Familiar with working within a broader Enterprise Architecture framework (e.g. TOGAF, Zachmann)
  • The successful candidate will have significant experience of defining and creating new solutions and delivering enterprise-grade data services in a national or international multi-site (retail) business
  • You should have extensive experience and understanding of agile methods – you should also be able to demonstrate continuous improvement with evidence of regular high-quality deliverables
  • It is essential your experience includes working with external partners, suppliers and product owners
  • Our preferred candidate will be totally at home in a culture where we discuss everything on our feet using whiteboard and pens. We also need you to be equally able to quickly convert whiteboard diagrams and discussions into tangible digital assets that can be shared and explained to others
  • Prior experience of using minimum viable products (MVP) to test new ideas is highly relevant
    • To be successful, you must be able to capture and define low level design (LLD) documentation, as an SA you will be producing LLDs for each epic - we expect our SAs to capture ~80% of the detail prior to starting a sprint – this is important as we outsource delivery work to our partners
