DevOps Manager – Saint Gobain Digital – Newbury Based Role (Hybrid Working)

  • Prior experience of working as a Release Manager, DevOps Architect or DevOps Engineer is essential
  • Computer Science Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience and understanding of agile methods – you should also be able to demonstrate continuous improvement with evidence of regular high-quality deployment experience to production environments using a DevOps pipeline
  • Good understanding of supply chain & logistics processes, and how offline/online support each other
  • Good understanding of cloud technologies and micro-service architectures –exposure and familiarity of service integration using Mulesoft or Axway would be beneficial
  • MS AZ400 qualification (Preferred but not essential)
  • Comfortable liaising with internal stakeholders at all levels  


  • Primarily responsible for the creation and ongoing running of our CI/CD DevOps pipeline used by our supplier partners and the management
  • Where appropriate, Build/Develop, QA, UAT, Pre-Prod and Production environments across the Digital estate
  • Consumer-facing (B2B, B2C & B2B2C) Digital assets (websites, eCommerce, mobile apps, IoT & specialist applications to support new revenue generation through diversification)
  • Consult with both internal and external partners to assist with implementation and optimisation of continuous integration and continuous delivery processes Maintain environment stability for business continuity
  • Assist with incident management and capture, then promote learnings to ensure higher stability
  • Support Development teams and testers with DevOps issues
  • Engage with Dev/QA teams to identify schedules of development workflow and optimising release lead time
  • Procure new infrastructure tools/software to add efficiency to the business, presenting to ARB for approval where necessary, with Security approval and technical low level design documentation
  • Identify Technical Debt and promote ways to mitigate
  • Ensure all code is securely stored and protected for all code created and developed for SGBD digital
  • Create, Track and maintain a published enterprise-wide release and deployment calendar
