Position description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Knowledge Content Author to work alongside the Knowledge Content Manager, based at our head office in Coventry. You will be responsible for the production of training and optimisation material content (courses, software releases, training manuals and other handout materials, including E-Learning content).  This information will be delivered to the wider team through training courses and other communication channels.  We’re looking for someone to undertake the day-to-day administration, liaison and other tasks to ensure that each training requirement is completed within the objectives specified, meeting the required deadlines.

 

What you’ll be doing as a Knowledge Content Author:

  • Training Material Development
    • Working with the Knowledge Content Manager and Training Teams, design and develop courseware and training material in line with business and project requirements.
    • Work closely with the Business Controls team to ensure the correct processes and procedures are included in all training material.
    • Ensure that all material is kept up to date with the latest changes to software, processes and procedures.
    • Maintain an up to date awareness of business developments, system changes, etc to a level where Software Release Notes can be produced to support software releases, as required.

  • Training Delivery
    • Deliver training sessions to other team members to ensure that they are both able to use the materials effectively and knowledgeable to train business units.
    • As part of the ICON project, deliver training sessions to the business, other team members and members of other IT department teams.

 

  • Personal Development
    • Identify suitable training or coaching opportunities for self in order to help complete agreed objectives.
    • Prepare for and attend one-to-ones with the Courseware Team Leader, as required.
    • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
    • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the different brands that make up SGBD, their procedures and general culture within their businesses.

What we’re looking for in a Knowledge Content Author:

  • A high degree of awareness of training and development
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Core literacy skills
  • Experience of developing training documentations and online learning modules
  • Knowledge of E-learning authoring methodology and tools
  • Experience of creating and managing elearning modules
