The Quality Assurance Team is a core part of the Saint Gobain Building Distribution IT department. We are looking for someone who has previous experience in Manual System Testing and enjoys working in a dynamic and fast paced environment, working alongside an innovative and friendly team. It is important that our candidate is both enthusiastic about and possesses a strong understanding of software development, as they will be actively involved in the end to end Project Lifecycle - from specification reviews to live implementation. The successful candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills and be confident to interact with a range of stakeholders. Whilst not essential, it would also be good to have knowledge around automation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating test plans and test cases from business requirements, technical and/or architectural design documentation.
  • Defining and inputting test data into the test environment, ensuring accuracy of data before use.
  • Performing simple and complex testing to ensure that software meets organisation standards and business requirements, operates effectively and is free from defect and risk.
  • Identifying issues and defects in software applications.
  • Defect management triage, which includes detection, risk assessment, root cause analysis, documenting, evidencing and retesting.
  • Ensuring the end to end solution meets the business requirements.
  • Participation in planning and design meetings ensuring thorough understanding of the product features with a goal of ensuring highly testable designs are delivered.
  • Performing reviews on requirement documents, and technical and/or architectural design documentation such as Functional Specifications/User Stories, producing suggestions for process and functional improvements and elimination of ambiguity

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Educated to Degree Level (desirable).
  • ISTQB (desirable).
  • Experience of ecommerce web platforms, (e.g. Hybris, Magento, Wordpress)
  • Experience of using test tools.
  • Experience of automation tools (desirable).
  • Experience of other testing disciplines (eg. Performance, Load).
  • Experience of working with 3rd Party Suppliers.
  • Understanding of Project Methodologies, (e.g. Agile/Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Knowledge of JIRA, SOAPUI/Postman (desirable).
