Who are we ?

Do you enjoy travelling and meeting the diverse network of people that make up Saint-Gobain? Confident enough with ICON to train the next wave of system users with ease? Then why not join our Business Change team on a secondment today!

The ICON programme has been at the heart of Saint-Gobain’s digital transformation, helping to create a standard across all brands by supporting the service we offer to our customers. As the largest programme we’ve ever delivered, ICON continues to play a vital strategic part in continuing to grow our business into the future.

We now have a number of exciting opportunities to join the ICON team as a Business Change Trainer, operating on a fixed-term basis throughout 2020 and onwards into the New Year (January 2021).

What impact will I have in this role?

You’ll be working alongside colleagues in IT, playing a fundamental role in delivering key ICON systems training (face to face or virtually) to staff and guiding them through a complex transition period. It might sound daunting, but in a role where virtually no day is the same, if you’ve got a can-do attitude and the confidence to work on your own initiative, then you’ll go far.

As a Business Change Trainer, your day to day will involve:

  • Delivering training sessions to the business, other team members and members of other SGBD.
  • Being the contact on-site during the ICON rollout, managing all elements of the conversion in line with business requirements.
  • Performing on-site support duties post-live, actively coaching and guiding Branch staff through all essential Branch tasks after the conversion.
  • Engaging with other SGBD teams in order to understand and appreciate how delivering training in different areas impacts on their departments.
  • Promoting a positive Health and Safety culture, ensuring appropriate safety clothing is worn in Branches and observing safe driving guidelines.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the different brands that make up SGBD, their procedures and general culture within their businesses.

What kind of person are you looking for?

First and foremost, we always want to recruit talented people that align well with our values and way of working; we innovate, we’re Agile, we’re Open & Engaging, we care about and know our customers, and we all try to act as entrepreneurs. At Saint-Gobain, we’re also committed to empowering and developing our own people wherever possible. So whilst experience of delivering training would be ideal, having the confidence to develop both yourself and the wider SGBD network is key, as we can support you. Being comfortable with overnight stays and national travel is also important, as the role will involve supporting branches up and down the country.

In addition to the above, if you have:

  • Good knowledge and experience of using ICON
  • The ability to work as a team and independently using your own initiative
  • The confidence to deliver face to face or virtual training and engage an audience
  • A can-do and positive attitude

…then you sound like just who we’re looking for, so apply today!

The world of work is changing, and at Saint-Gobain we are open to new ways of working in order to attract and retain talented people. We understand that everyone has different needs and commitments. Therefore, we are very open to discuss any flexible requirement or need that you may have for this role. We can’t guarantee to meet all requests for flexibility when we are recruiting. But, we promise to listen.
