This role will be based at our Rochdale site who specialise in the production of PTFE fabric laminates and silicone coated fabrics that are used in consumer applications for food processing, electronics, environment, protection and industrial applications.

As Mechanical Maintenance Technician you will be joining a dedicated team and play an integral part in keeping manufacturing flowing.   You will be supporting the site to ensure that operational efficiencies are maintained and to support all relevant site projects.


Your day to day duties will include;


  • Ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following maintenance plans
  • Fabricates repair parts by using work shop equipment - lathes etc.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying to H&S procedures
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports and update the maintenance plans.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance

In addition to your maintenance duties, the successful candidate will be actively involved in Environmental, Health & Safety procedures across the site.  You will receive training within this specialist field with a view to achieving the industry recognised IOSH qualification.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have;


  • Previous experience of working in a mechanical maintenance role.
  • Experience of working in a medium engineering manufacturing/production environment
  • The ability to produce fabrications by using a lathe
  • A strong understanding of H&S procedures
  • A recognized apprenticeship or City and Guilds / HND in an engineering discipline
