Specification Manager – Saint-Gobain Weber - Scotland, North East England, Cumbria

This is a fantastic opportunity to join as a Specification Manager (Homebased) with Saint-Gobain Weber where you are responsible for driving the direction of the business through the implementation of robust specification activity with key specifiers and contractors enabling Weber to achieve its ambition of specification market leadership through the management of supply chain with key distribution partners.

As a Specification Manager member you will be involved in:

  • Taking personal responsibility for own and team safety and promotes safe working practices across the business so as to cause no harm in the workplace and keep everyone safe.
  • Managing the relationship with key specification stakeholders, such as Regional Social Landlords/ Local Authority Housing Associations, External Wall Insulation and Render Contractors, Architects, Main Contractors, House builder Design Teams & National/ Regional Distributors to maximise market presence.
  • Managing the specification activity for Weber products within the territory through a combination of project targeting (e.g. through the use of lead generating software and framework agreements) and reversing into specification (e.g. through stakeholder relationship management) to provide a strong project pipeline with relevance to our product offering.
  • Managing the issuing of specification proposals to stakeholders and being able to request required support from Specification Consultant team in addition to being able to send suitable specifications on own initiative within the set parameters (e.g. Show pad) to ensure the best information is provided to the customer giving Weber a competitive advantage

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

To be suitable for the Specification Manager role you need to have:

  • Specification experience within technical sales or engineering background.
  • High customer focus, able to anticipate and adapt to customer needs and expectations and develop and maintain customer relationships.
  • Education to degree level (preferable but not essential) or equivalent business qualification.
  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems experience.
  • Problem solving skills and technical/commercial acumen.
  • Good team player skills internally and externally.
  • Practical and logical knowledge of construction products and project tender process.
