How will you support us?


This role is working with our Glassolutions business where you will be an Integral part of the Site Senior Team, responsible for developing and implementing the Northern Distribution hub strategy in conjunction with the Sector Director; working closely with customer experience team to provide seamless service to our customer aligned to their needs.


You will lead and manage the distribution team in order to achieve safety, quality and productivity standards efficiently and effectively. Alongside with the Site Senior Team, you will ensure distribution capabilities are continually developed in line with the evolving customer segments.


In the role as a Distribution Branch Manager you will;


  • Achieve Branch sales and profit targets

  • Contribute to and embed the EHS Management System; ensure this is sustained throughout the factory areas and company policies and procedures are implemented effectively, ensuring the Safety Golden Rules are adhered to.

  • Develop and execute a branch specific sales plan– in conjunction with the Commercial Director- that clearly demonstrates target customer groups / types, the branch’s corresponding value propositions and how these correlate to the branch sales / gross margin budget. utilising CRM as the engine to record and report sales opportunities and activities

  • Actively communicate with all team members; give meaning to site priorities by setting clear and measurable objectives, motivating the teams around the company strategy and vision.

  • Collaborate across UK Distribution network to centralise Hub activities to maximise overall business efficiencies, though implementation of digital technologies, supply chain and logistic solutions

  • Lead and Manage all team members, ensuring they have the right level of skills and knowledge and show the right attitudes, behaviours and performance levels.

  • Manage site budget controls to ensure site and facilities are maintained

In order to be successful in this role, you must have;


  • Degree/HNC qualified, or equivalent, preferably in business discipline or equivalent experience for the role.

  • IOSH Managing Safely Certificate or similar is desirable.

  • Experience of distribution environment within management roles in similar fast moving and high depend environments.

  • Commercial Management experience essential with demonstrable commercial acumen

  • Must have a clear and strong commitment to EHS and able to disseminate and champion this within the team.

  • Strong quality and customer service focus.

  • Must work well in a team environment with ability to achieve through others, whilst also having good leadership and people management skills - team management and development of people is a necessity.
