Warehouse Operative

(Distribution Centre – Mallusk)

Job role:

  • Selecting goods from storage area and preparing orders for delivery.
  • Checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse.
  • Taking goods to the appropriate storage space – using loading and lifting aids for heavy goods.
  • Booking goods in and out on the stock management system.
  • Keeping a careful record of the stock on the warehouse management system, so that it can be located quickly from the relevant bin locations
  • Operating a forklift truck to move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely and labelled correctly and safely.
  • Loading and offloading vehicles manually and with a forklift according to company’s specifications.
  • Maintaining good communication with Assistant Branch Manager.
  • Plan, organise and coordinate deliveries, from the warehouse to ensure the highest level of customer service is achieved.
  • Ensuring all paperwork is handled efficiently.
  • Bi-annual stocktakes - including preparation, counting, rectifying any discrepancies.
  • Working as part of a team and promote excellent service within the department, ensuring all necessary procedures are followed.
  • Ensuring stock is maintained at a satisfactory level and that proper ordering procedures are followed.
  • General store duties and housekeeping.


  • Evidence of success in a previous fast moving role
  • Accredited Forklift licence (Isle Master ideally)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills Self-motivated and professional personality
  • Time management skills
