Position description

Showroom Manager - Jewson – Godalming

Jewson are looking for a Showroom Manager to work at the Godalming branch.

We are looking for someone with a design back ground who can follow a kitchen project through its full journey. We would consider a more flexible working pattern if required. We are also open to considering a supervisor who is looking for that next step in their career!

We are looking for someone who will take accountability and comfortable with management tasks along with confident leadership skills.

Hours of work:

44 Hours a week worked between 07:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday and Saturdays 08:00 to 12:00


To manage internal sales colleagues to maximise profitability through building successful working relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers delivering excellent customer service whilst maintaining a safe environment that is in line with company policies and procedures.


Customer Sales

Manage the team to deliver an excellent customer experience and work towards Showroom sales and profit targets by:

  • Maximising customer interactions to support achievement of sales and profit targets through upselling and cross-selling relevant products offering specific product advice
  • Placing customer orders with suppliers and advising customers of anticipated delivery dates, scheduling delivery dates to meet customer needs and arranging appropriate transport
  • Realising full potential of all customer interactions and build strong, effective relationships with customers and suppliers, managing feedback accordingly
  • Advising customers of trading term and conditions and information relating to customer accounts as required.
  • Ensuring all customer orders are fulfilled in a timely fashion
  • Supporting all Company initiatives
  • Following plans to continuously improve customer experience
  • Coordinate sales promotions activities

People Leadership

Manage Showroom Staff to:

  • Achieve Safety and Wellbeing culture
  • Embed Saint-Gobain Principles of Conduct and Action into working environment and behavioural standards
  • Develop a performance culture and high colleague engagement
  • Communicate Company plans, goals and individual objectives.
  • Support the team with day-to-day queries

Operational Compliance

Manage the:

  • Delivery of key KPIs for your Showroom
  • Carry out all cash transactions, refund and till processes accurately and safeguard Company’s stock, money and all other Company assets
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Enhance the Safety and Wellbeing culture and meet targets


Constantly try to improve performance to achieve your:

  • Sales PBIT and Margin Targets
  • Stock / Productivity / Debtors Targets
  • Improvements to your Showroom Customer Score
  • Existing/new/lapsed Account growth
  • Environmental, Health and Wellbeing targets

  • Look for new ways of working to improve efficiency
  • Go out of your way to ensure customers have a good experience and adjust the nature of services delivered according to developments in customer needs, expectations and concerns

  • Good engagement surveys and effective two-way communication with team and management
  • Manage conflict, be passionate about Customer Service and Health & Safety

  • Create and maintain positive relationships with the team
  • Actively promote network working (Clusters, sister brands etc) and ensure the team participates successfully in all aspects of the wider network

Deliver Operational Compliance for your branch by:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of prices



  • Previous experience of Managing a Showroom
  • Selling experience within a Kitchen or Bathroom Showroom either retail or trade outlet, in generating sales leads, converting leads to orders and negotiating prices.
  • Relevant market and product knowledge
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop a team
  • Proactive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude
  • Demonstrable customer service focus
  • Able to create and maintain successful customer relationships
  • Able to handle difficult situations and diffuse conflict


  • GCSEs (Or equivalent) - Maths & English
  • Relevant forklift licence
  • Experience in a sales/customer focussed role
  • People management
