This Customer Service Supervisor (Distribution) role is working in our Jewson Branch in Wishaw, Scotland. Jewson is the biggest employer in the UK Saint-Gobain business, with over 500 braches.

What will I be doing in this role?

The Customer Service Supervisor (distribution) position is key to the performance of the branch. You will oversee and also undertake yard and warehouse duties to help promote and maximise sales. This will include managing the yard and forklift trucks to ensure orders are fulfilled in a timely fashion and deliveries are received to site safely. You will be liaising with drivers and managing the loading and unloading of vehicles within the yard.

The position requires someone who can supervise operational colleagues to ensure the customer receives excellent service whilst ensuring a safe working environment.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Day to day operational and health and safety responsibility for the yard and warehouse – working to deliver KPI’s and ensuring compliance with company-set standards and working practices
  • Supervision of a small team of colleagues to ensure all sales opportunities are realised whilst providing excellent levels of customer service
  • Day to day supervision and leadership of the team ensuring the team is harmonious and working to the best of their ability
  • Supporting efficient stock management processes and working to minimise waste
  • Continually looking at ways to improve the performance of the team and branch
