How will you support us?


This role is working with Glassolutions where you will be responsible for effective loading of manufacturing processes to maximise resources and achieve delivery commitments given to customers, whilst simultaneously monitoring and maintaining current stock levels.


In the role as a Planning Assistant you will;


  • Batch orders to meet production requirements and therefore avoid any production downtime and increase efficiency.

  • Be responsible for material optimisation to minimise glass loss and improve quality.

  • Manage capacity and lead times in order to achieve DOT targets and satisfy customers’ requirements.

  • Ensure all orders are within production capabilities and communicate with customer services’. Then take action to develop any alternative solutions if required.

  • Be in control of daily logging of all planning information to allow analysis and management reports to be generated.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have;


  • Experience of Planning from a previous role

  • Very focused with a high level of attention to detail

  • Knowledge of production systems would be desirable.

  • Excellent IT skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and manufacturing software

  • Utilise interpersonal skills to develop professional relationships and work closely with other members of staff to achieve a common goal
