Position description
1.Managingthe technical standards related to instrumentation and on regulation loops of the glass manufacturing process
- Define and maintain the technical specifications, the datasheets and related P&IDs
- Collect the needs of improvement of the standards (process evolution, regulation changes, cost optimization, …) and adapt the standards accordingly
2.Support the investment projects on Flat Glass Production lines (float lines) on instrumentation scope and activities of control – regulation
- Contribute, in association with the project teams, to the scope definition of the projects on the basis of technical audits and plant requirements
- Participate to all technical and potentially commercial phases of the project (issue specifications, offer analysis and technical alignments, follow receptions and acceptance tests)
- Follow the commissioning of the various systems and carry out functionnal tests before start of production
- Participate to the adjustments of regulation loops and accompany the production ramp-up
- Follow the resolution of open technical points and the performance of the systems during the start-up of the plants
- Consolidate the project documentation and capitalize on the return of experience (adapt technical standards, optimize contractor supply, adapt methodology)
- Contribute to the resolution of the technical problems related to instrumentation and control – regulation when required
- Perform technical audits in SG plants
- Perform a technical watch on instrumentation equipment and on methodologies of measurement and regulation
- Manage the relation with the main validated suppliers and follow-up their activities
- Participate to the identification of potential new suppliers and their validation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Global Engineer or Electronic / Instrumentation / Control Engineer
- Fluent in French and English. Spanish and/or German is a plus
- Experience of 5 years in an industrial environment with a mandatory field experience. Expérience in an international and multicultural environment is an advantage
- Knowledge of fieldbus (Profibus DP, Modbus TCP and RTU, …)
- Knowledge of automation / controls and regulations
- Good understanding of the contractual relations between Client and Suppliers
- Knowledge related to ATEX instruments and constraints is prefered
- Good team spirit
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Ability to work simultaneously in several projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication
- Ability to work in a demanding environment

Part of TIP, the International Technical Department(DTI) of Saint-Gobain Glass Industries, based in Aubervilliers, provides expertise and support to all glass manufacturing plants worldwide. At the heart of these activities, the Engineering Department is in charge of defining the technical standards for Saint-Gobain Glass' investment projects, supervising and assisting the projects and ensuring the application of the right project management methodology.
In order tomeet its future challenges, including an intensive investment program and an ambitious roadmap towards the decarbonization of its glass production, the Engineering Department is looking to strengthen its teamby recruiting an Instrumentation and Control - RegulationEngineer.
