Position description

We are looking for a Fluid Engineer. The main missions of the position are:

  • to support the construction projects of Glass plants Greenfields and brownfields across the world and
  • Define, deploy and manage global standards for fluid circuits and cooling systems in all the existing Saint-Gobain Glass plants.

More specifically, he/she will be responsible of:

  • Supporting the industrial investment projects across Saint-Gobain Glass plants:
    • Define the specifications with the local project team based on the global Saint-Gobain Glass standards
    • Support and validate the basic and detailed design activities from engineering companies
    • Participate to the call for tenders processes (offer analysis, technical alignments, budgets)
    • Follow-Up of the manufacturing and building phases
    • Supervise the equipment tests (at supplier site, in the plant) and commissioning (Glass Tests)
    • Assist the start-up of the installations
  • Managing and improve the global standards for fluids circuits (Water cooling, Water treatment and distribution, Fuel and Technical gas distribution, Compressed Air distribution, Ventilation, Fire Fighting…)
  • Contributing continuously to the improvement of the design of the Glass Plants towards higher project and production efficiency (CAPEX, Schedule, Total Cost of Ownership, CO2 reduction, sustainability, …)
  • Managing global projects related to water consumption saving and energy saving and support local projects

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Mechanical Engineer with 5 years or more of experience or highly skilled technician with significant and relevant experience in the required fields. Basic knowledge in Cooling System Technologies, Air Blowers and Ventilation Systems, Combustible Gas distribution systems (ATEX)

Key knowledge /Technical competencies:

Experience in large industrial investment projects

Experience in supplier management (engineering companies and construction companies) and pre-assembled/modular piping and instrumentation solutions.

Fluent use of MS office collaborative tools, familiar with digital tools, 2D and 3D CAD solutions (AutoCad) and with P&ID documents also.

Fluent English oral and written skills mandatory. French language is a plus.

Autonomous and well organized, Pragmatic, Able to convince people and take decisions.

Additional Requirements

International travels can represent annually between 20% to 30% of the activity to support the projects. It can punctually increase during specific plant commissioning period for big projects.

20 to 40% home office possibilities.
