Position description

Job Purpose : This is a central engineering position responsible for design and implementation of new industrial computer systems at gypsum manufacturing plants worldwide. This person is expected to work Autonomously with little technical contribution from management. This person is responsible for designing scada systems and process networks for board plants plasters plants and glasswool/stonewool plants. This person will contribute to a typical electrical & automation scope of 100k€ to 5M€ as part of a much larger project ranging up to 150M€. This position will be responsible for issuing requests for quotations and will manage and direct installation contractors. This position also has project management and implementation duties, such as budgeting, scheduling, field construction supervision.

Main Responsabilities

  • Lead of scada design for strategic TIP projects.
  • Commissioning of new scada systems.
  • Continuous improvements of the new and existing scada systems.
  • Provide expert support to operating plants
  • Provide training to plant scada engineers
  • Manage and direct contractors

Job Complexity

  • Team working with an international team split between four locations: East Leake (UK), Rantigny (France), Chambery (France), Bangalore (India).
  • Working with people from different cultures worldwide.
  • Frequent and extensive international travels.
  • Technical knowledge of server operating systems.
  • Technical knowledge of many programming languages: C, VB, VBscript, SQL, HTML, Python.
  • Contact and train people in the plant teams: software engineers, process engineers and operators.




  • Technician or engineer degree with a significant experience (min. 5-7 years) in projects and in industrial environment

Knowledge /Experience /Technical competencies

  • Specialist in scada programming: Siemens WinCC and/or IA Ignition.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Database systems.
  • Programming languages such as C, VBscript, VB, ASP, Python.
  • Preferably: Good understanding of the process control in one of the following process areas:
    • Calcination.
    • board formation, mixing & forming
    • board handling.
    • board drying
    • Mixing plants
  • Site experience (commissioning / Start-ups) in high speed (24/7) process or mechanical handling industries.
  • Ability to lead innovation in scada design.
  • Project Management experience
  • English: spoken and written
