Float & Lehr R&D Engineer (W/M)

Why do we need you ?

Within the DTI, the purpose of the Float & Lehr R&D Engineer is to manage R&D projects that are linked to the float and lehr workshops, and to support the implementation of Best Practices coming from the R&D studies.

In his role, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage R&D projects: in collaboration with R&D centers (SGRx and SGCV), ensure proper execution of the projects for which he is in charge, respecting costs and plannings. Collaborate also to the projects managed by R&D centers.
  • Industrialization: Follow and ensure industrialization (stages 4 and 5) of R&D project for which you are in charge. For that purpose, you shall write the required documentation (process, products, technologies).
  • Reporting: Organize and capitalize steering committees, R&D trials, technical reports, key meetings, as this documentation is the basis for current and future know-how of the DTI.
  • Budget: With the portfolio manager, prepare budgets and plans.
  • Innovation: Propose improvements and innovative solutions to the challenges of flat glass production.
  • Techno Watch: In collaboration with SGRx and SGCV, lead the techno and IP watch for float and lehr technologies.
  • Continuous improvement & Technical assistance: As part of the float assistance team, perform data analysis to help solving production issues.

Is this job for you ?

Education: Engineer or equivalent

Experience: significant experience in R&D management.

Soft Skills: Rigorous and with a sense of organization as well as a taste for industrial processes and teamwork in a multidisciplinary and multicultural context. Ability to listen and communicate skills to support and train teams.

Languages: English is essential (written and oral), French would be a plus.

This position is based in Aubervilliers, France.

Travel, of varying duration, to industrial sites, in France and abroad, is to be expected (from 20% to 30% of the time).
