Job Summary

The Estimator, under the direction of the Director of Sales, will work closely with the Agway Metals customer base, focusing on providing a positive customer experience. The estimator will provide accurate information and quotations to customers and act as resource for both internal customers and external customers.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide timely pricing on purchased, stock, and custom items;
  • Review quotations for accuracy before sending to customers;
  • Follow up on quoted orders;
  • Review job specifications to ensure correct building materials;
  • Assist customers in understanding loading tables;
  • Provide product knowledge to internal and external customers;
  • Assist customers with take‑offs and determining required materials;
  • Offer one‑on‑one customer support and problem resolution via phone, email, and other channels;
  • Address customer complaints in a professional, proactive manner;
  • Use the ERP system for order entry, inventory checks, and maintaining quotes and purchase orders;
  • Research customer requests, assess manufacturing feasibility, and source alternative materials;
  • Liaise with production, suppliers, logistics, purchasing, and support outside sales with pricing strategies;
  • Maintain high customer service standards, product knowledge, and professional conduct;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Is this job for you ?

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience;
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers;
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and strong work ethic;
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
  • Capacity to respond quickly and appropriately in a dynamic, changing environment;
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in daily work;
  • Strong organization and time‑management skills to handle multiple priorities;
  • Ability to exercise sound decision‑making and maintain professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions;
  • Comfortable interacting with internal and external customers in a service‑oriented environment;
  • Proficiency in operating a desktop computer and related software/ERP systems.

What we offer…

Certain provinces require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates, the base pay range for this position is $64,000 to $80,000 per year. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 5% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is discretionary.
