The successful individual can look forward to a truly challenging and rewarding role by working with an integrated and dedicated cross functional team (R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales Marketing), at a very exciting stage in the Company’s evolution.
The Associate Product Manager will provide product project management and marketing analysis in support of achieving the sales and profit goals for a specific building material product category, and assist in implementing annual marketing and business plans. This person will work closely with Product Managers for portfolio management as well as New product launches. The position also conducts research, analysis, goals tracking, tactics and measurement of product marketing plans. The incumbent will work in conjunction with Finance, Sales, R&D, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure the success of the product category goals.
- Partner with Commercial Financial Analyst to produce/interpret reports based on numerous data points which will enable Product Managers to make more informed business decisions and provide analysis summaries and recommendations based on findings
Product Development and Launches
•Support the project management of the assigned products in order to achieve the business and departmental goals as outlined in the corporate plan
•Capture and assimilate data about the market, competitive product range and tactics, customer trends and intelligence to develop and define the value proposition to become a preferred supplier with the Product Manager
•Collaborate with sales and engineering to create a working list of projects that are prioritized by business case
•Lead/co lead projects through development using the Stage Gate process and tools
•Collaborate with Sr Brand Manager in developing collateral and tools such as brochures, product samples, videos and apps as well as other tactics
Product Line Management
•Direct all product management maintenance issues working closely with sales, customer service, operations, technical services, supply chain, purchasing and finance to achieve monthly and annual corporate goals
•Provide product updates and market insights to outside sales and customers through field presentations, sales meetings and technical training programs
Market/Business Development Opportunities
•Supports business cases development for prioritization in stage gate including market definition, market size and competitive intelligence to justify projects
•Collaborate with Marketing team(s) in developing marketing programs for homeowners, contractors, architects and distributors
•VOC: Conducts frequent customer visits to evaluate market needs and opportunities; participates in customer and other ‘Voice of the Customer’ activities
*Overnight travel in US and Canada (10%) post covid

• 4+ years of product/ operations/R&D/engineering or sales experience required
•Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field is required
•Excellent project management skills
• Proficient in the use of various PC applications including MS Office (Access, Excel- intermediate to advanced, Word, Outlook),
•Knowledge / prior use of Innovation - Stage Gate process an asset
•Comfortable with ambiguity; does not require a high degree of structure.
•Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills.
•Excellent computer skills / applications usage such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel
