Plant Manager

Why do we need you ?

We are seeking a hands-on, passionate Plant Manager to lead our Chryso plant in British Columbia.

In this role, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership, driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity. You will play a key role in advancing our World Class Manufacturing (WCM) culture while ensuring we meet and exceed customer and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead all plant operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality products on time and at optimal cost
  • Provide clear direction by communicating goals, priorities, and performance expectations
  • Build and execute both short- and long-term strategies to drive operational excellence and cultural growth

Continuous Improvement (WCM)

  • Drive World Class Manufacturing initiatives across the plant
  • Develop and support cross-functional teams to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance capabilities
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability

Financial Management

  • Develop, manage, and monitor plant budgets and key financial metrics
  • Oversee purchasing and capital expenditures to meet business objectives
  • Build long-term capital investment plans aligned with growth and performance targets

Environment, Health & Safety

  • Champion a strong safety culture with a commitment to zero incidents
  • Ensure robust EHS systems are in place and fully compliant
  • Maintain a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible workplace

People & Culture

  • Create an environment of engagement, trust, and accountability
  • Develop talent and build high-performing teams
  • Lead cultural transformation toward collaboration and continuous improvement

Is this job for you ?

About You

  • University degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to lead cultural change and build high-performing teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Solid experience with continuous improvement methodologies (WCM, Lean, Kaizen, TPM)
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and capital planning
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Results-driven, data-oriented, and able to act with urgency
  • Willingness to provide off-hours support when needed
  • SAP experience is considered an asset

Certain provinces require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates, the base pay for this position ranges from 100 000$ to 125 000$ per year. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to education, experience, skills and qualifications as they relate to the role. Fully qualified and experienced candidates will typically align near the midpoint. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
